The challenge
There was no clear SEO strategy supporting national expansion. Visibility for generic, high-intent medical keywords was limited, structured SEO processes and prioritisation were missing, and organic efforts were not aligned with long-term business growth goals.
Where value was leaking
Mapped onto the Organic Value Chain, three links were holding everything else back.
- Infrastructure There was no SEO strategy supporting national expansion.
- Build Visibility for generic, high-intent medical keywords was limited.
- Capability Structured SEO processes and prioritisation were missing.
My role
- Owner of the SEO strategy and long-term vision
- Built SEO standards and operational processes
- Led audits and defined the high-level SEO strategy
- Coordinated implementation with internal teams
- Ensured quality control, prioritisation and performance reporting
Strategy and key actions
-
National strategy
Designed a national SEO expansion strategy.
-
Audit
Conducted a full SEO audit to identify growth blockers.
-
Processes
Built structured SEO processes and strategic checklists.
-
Content plan
Defined a content and page development plan aligned with search demand.
-
Service pages
Optimised key strategic service pages for generic keywords.
-
Authority and non-brand
Strengthened domain authority and shifted focus from brand-driven traffic to scalable non-brand acquisition.
The results
Over a two-year period (Ahrefs): +200% organic visibility growth, +400% keywords in the top 3 positions, +250% keywords in positions 4–5, and branded traffic share reduced by 22 percentage points.
Why it worked
Process came before pages. Standards, checklists and clear priorities let the internal team ship consistently, so the work on generic service pages kept compounding over two years.
